According to the wiki they were scrapped for having a poorly placed hanger a shot into the forward hull during launch could spell doom fr the ship also imperitors (renamed imperials) carried far more fighters to compensate, had a larger troop compliment, more armor and a larger operational time (assuming the last since it states the venitor couldn't stray far from supply lines while the imperitors were known to operate alone).
